Atëteche
All the planets, except for Earth, were named after Greek and Roman gods and goddesses.
Atë is a Greek word for "ruin, folly or delusion". It is the action committed by a hero or heroine, often because of hubris, which leads to their downfall.
The Greek goddess, Atë. She is known as the Greek goddess of evil, misfortune, obsession, guilt, infatuation, and mischief. Using the mask pieces, we tried to build a terrain and visually represent a scene that can take over the existing world with its pure beauty.
Teche is the root word for technology. The surface of Atëteche is a ruin of a techno future planet where once left to its own device’s technology has taken over the planet growing as nature once did. Trees have been taken over by data transforming them into parasitic growth overwhelming the derelict city centers.
Atëteche’s core is guarded by a tentacled creature of the deep. The creature aptly named Atë is believed to have created the terra of the planet from its excrement. Leaving the biomass for the rest of hostile life to begin to grow a flourish. During a period of hibernation, the surface was colonized believed to be a haven was not the case. Once Atë was awakened she began reigning terror on settlements leaving them in ruins, forever patrolling the surface to protect from any future invasions.
